Suzuki on certain passenger vehicles, the power steering pump pulley may separate from the power steering pump due to inadequate wall thickness of the pulley.
The short version
AMERICAN SUZUKI MOTOR CORP. reported a problem with the hydraulic power assist pump. Here is what owners need to know.
ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE POWER STEERING PUMP PULLEY MAY SEPARATE FROM THE POWER STEERING PUMP DUE TO INADEQUATE WALL THICKNESS OF THE PULLEY.
THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE THE POWER STEERING PUMP DRIVE BELT TO DISCONNECT RESULTING IN HEAVY STEERING, AND CAN LEAD TO ENGINE OVERHEATING OR TO BATTERY DISCHARGE AND ENGINE STALL.
DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE POWER STEERING PUMP PULLEY AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE IT, free of charge.
