Ud fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no.
The short version
NISSAN DIESEL AMERICA, INC reported a problem with the supply check valve. Here is what owners need to know.
THESE VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 121, "AIR BRAKE SYSTEMS." THESE VEHICLES HAVE INSUFFICIENT AIR TANK RESERVE CAPACITY AND MAY RESULT IN INSUFFICIENT AIR SUPPLY TO PROPERLY OPERATE THE BRAKES DURING REPETITIVE BRAKE APPLICATIONS.
THIS MAY RESULT IN REDUCED BRAKING PERFORMANCE WHICH COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING TO THE VEHICLE OPERATOR.
THE AIR RESERVOIR TANK'S VOLUME WILL BE INCREASED TO MEET FMVSS 121 REQUIREMENTS, free of charge.
