Pierce Manufacturing may have been manufactured with excessive paint on the steel wheel mounting surfaces.
The short version
PIERCE MANUFACTURING reported a problem with the wheels lugs/nuts/bolts/studs. Here is what owners need to know.
THESE VEHICLES MAY HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED WITH EXCESSIVE PAINT ON THE STEEL WHEEL MOUNTING SURFACES. THE EXCESSIVE PAINT MAY CAUSE THE WHEEL LUG NUTS TO LOSE CLAMP LOAD, LOOSEN AND FALL OFF.
EVENTUALLY THE WHEEL(S) COULD SEPARATE FROM THE VEHICLE AND CAUSE A CRASH.
DEALERS WILL CHECK THE WHEEL NUT TORQUE AND TIGHTEN THE LUG NUTS TO THE RECOMMENDED TORQUE AS SPECIFIED IN THE PIERCE CUSTOM CHASSIS AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL, free of charge.
