The short version

NAVISTAR, INC reported a problem with the body door. Here is what owners need to know.

WHAT

THE REFLECTIVE TAPE FOR THE REAR EXIT DOOR MAY NOT HAVE BEEN TOTALLY COMPLETED. ACCORDINGLY, THE BUSES FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO.

WHY IT MATTERS

THIS NONCOMPLIANCE MAY REDUCE CONSPICUITY OF THE REAR DOOR, REDUCING THE ABILITY OF EMERGENCY PERSONNEL TO IDENTIFY AND GAIN ACCESS TO THE REAR EXIT DURING AN EMERGENCY, POSSIBLY INCREASING THE OCCUPANT'S RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH DURING AN EMERGENCY.

WHAT TO DO

NAVISTAR WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE BUSES AND ADD REFLECTIVE TAPE IF NECESSARY, free of charge.
