Autocar Industries may develop cracks in the top flange of the RIGHT-HAND frame rail at the clearance CUT-OUT for the engine air intake system.
The short version
AUTOCAR INDUSTRIES, LLC reported a problem with the structure frame and members. Here is what owners need to know.
THESE VEHICLES MAY DEVELOP CRACKS IN THE TOP FLANGE OF THE RIGHT-HAND FRAME RAIL AT THE CLEARANCE CUT-OUT FOR THE ENGINE AIR INTAKE SYSTEM. THIS IS DUE TO HIGH STRESS INDUCED AT THE LOCATION OF THE CUT-OUT WHEN THE VEHICLE IS SUBJECTED TO SEVERE DUTY CYCLES.
OVER TIME, CRACKING IN THE FRAME RAIL MAY PROPAGATE AND CAUSE THE FRAME RAIL TO FAIL, RESULTING IN CHANGES IN VEHICLE HANDLING AND/OR INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
AN OWNER NOTIFICATION LETTER WILL BE MAILED WHICH WILL PROVIDE INSTRUCTIONS FOR SCHEDULING REPAIR OF THE VEHICLE AT AN AUTHORIZED AUTOCAR SERVICE FACILITY, free of charge.
