CUSTOM BUILT GOOSENECK TRAILERS, INC. (CBGT) IS RECALLING 1 25 AND 1 40 MODEL YEAR 2012 TRAILERS, MANUFACTURED BETWEEN JANUARY 14, 2011, AND JANUARY 18, 2012, EQUIPPED WITH AN ELECTRIC/HYDRAULIC (E/H) BRAKE ACTUATOR PUMP. THIS PUMP MAY NOT HAVE BEEN PROPERLY HEAT TREATED.
THE E/H BRAKE ACTUATOR PROVIDES BRAKING POWER TO THE TRAILER BRAKES. FAILURE OF THE ACTUATOR CAN RESULT IN THE LOSS OF BRAKING EFFORT BY THE TRAILER, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
CBGT WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE ELECTRIC/HYDRAULIC (E/H) BRAKE ACTUATOR PUMPS, FREE OF CHARGE.
