The short version

Daimler Trucks North America reported a problem with the disc caliper. Here is what owners need to know.

WHAT

The brake caliper mounting bolts may be incorrectly torqued, which could result in the bolts loosening.

WHY IT MATTERS

The bolts may not provide adequate clamping force between the brake caliper and brake anchor plate, resulting in the caliper detaching and thus reduced brake effectiveness. Reduced brake effectiveness increases the risk of a crash.

WHAT TO DO

DTNA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and tighten the caliper mounting bolts, as needed, free of charge.
