Prevost Cars mechanical springs used to return the accelerator pedal to idle after the driver lifts their foot off the pedal may break.
The short version
Prevost Cars, Inc. reported a problem with the vehicle speed control accelerator pedal. Here is what owners need to know.
The mechanical springs used to return the accelerator pedal to idle after the driver lifts their foot off the pedal may break.
If the springs break, the pedal may not return to idle once the driver lifts their foot off the pedal. This unintended acceleration increases the risk of a crash.
Prevost will notify owners, and dealers will replace the affected accelerator pedals, free of charge.
