Ford affected vehicles may have been built with a steering upper intermediate shaft that was improperly riveted.
The short version
Ford Motor Company reported a problem with the steering. Here is what owners need to know.
The affected vehicles may have been built with a steering upper intermediate shaft that was improperly riveted.
If the intermediate shaft was improperly riveted, it could separate from the intermediate shaft flex coupling, resulting in a loss of steering control and increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the intermediate shaft and replace it, as necessary, free of charge.
