The affected vehicles are equipped with an optional cold weather PVC heater kit. In these vehicles, the PVC pipe heater wiring may chafe on a metal clamp possibly resulting in the wire short circuiting.
A short circuit increases the risk of a fire.
MFTA will notify owners, and dealers will replace the PVC pipe heater, free of charge.
