The short version

Forest River, Inc. reported a problem with the emergency escape/egress/exit. Here is what owners need to know.

WHAT

The labels on the rear emergency exit window are not located within 16 centimeters of the release mechanisms as required. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release."

WHY IT MATTERS

If the label is not located the correct distance from the mechanism, it may hinder an occupant's ability to open the emergency window and escape from the vehicle quickly in the event of an emergency.

WHAT TO DO

Forest River will notify owners, and provide a new label along with instructions for the correct placement of the label on the window, free of charge.
