The short version
KYMCO USA reported a problem with the power train manual transmission. Here is what owners need to know.
In the affected models, the gear shift pattern was assembled in a reverse sequence when compared to the standard setup. As such, these motorcycles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 123, "Motorcycle Controls and Displays."
If the motorcycle shifts opposite of other motorcycles, a rider may be confused and may select the wrong gear, adversely affecting control of the motorcycle and increasing the risk of a crash.
KYMCO will notify owners, and dealers will repair the motorcycles, free of charge.
