Pierce Manufacturing affected vehicles were modified to be equipped with extended bumpers, requiring the vehicles to have additional side markers lights due to the new vehicle length.
The short version
Pierce Manufacturing reported a problem with the exterior lighting. Here is what owners need to know.
The affected vehicles were modified to be equipped with extended bumpers, requiring the vehicles to have additional side markers lights due to the new vehicle length. Since the vehicles do not have the necessary amount of side marker lights, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Assoc.
If the vehicle is missing side marker lights, it may have reduced visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.
Take it to a dealer — they will install the required side marker lamps, free of charge.
