The short version
Kovatch Mobile Equipment Corp. reported a problem with the driveline driveshaft. Here is what owners need to know.
The affected vehicles may have replacement drive shafts that may twist and fail during use.
Failure of the driveshaft may leave the fire truck immobilized in traffic, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, the truck may not be able to respond to an emergency, increasing the chances of injury for those at risk.
KME has notified owners, and dealers replaced the drive shafts, free of charge.
