The short version

Terex South Dakota, Inc. reported a problem with the electrical system. Here is what owners need to know.

WHAT

The vehicles have a switch to monitor whether the hood is open or not. If the switch thinks that the hood is open, the vehicle software may disable the Aerial or Digger Derrick remote engine control functions.

WHY IT MATTERS

If the hood switch prevents the remote engine controls from shutting the vehicle engine down in the event of a hydraulic issue on the Aerial or Digger Derrick, it may increase the risk of an injury.

WHAT TO DO

TSD will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the vehicles to only disable the engine start function if the switch indicates that the hood is open, free of charge.
