Phoenix Motorcars when the vehicle is fully loaded, it may exceed the Gross Axle Weight Rating (gawr) and the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (gvwr).
The short version
Phoenix Motorcars reported a problem with the wheels rim. Here is what owners need to know.
When the vehicle is fully loaded, it may exceed the Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) and the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 119, "New Pneumatic Tires-Other Than Passenger Cars," and number 120, "Wheels and Rims-Other Than Passenger Cars."
If the vehicle is loaded to its maximum passenger capacity, the rear tires may fail, increasing the risk of a crash.
Phoenix will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace all of the vehicle wheels and tires with ones of a higher load rating, free of charge.
