Mack sidewall steel body cords may be exposed, possibly causing unexpected, rapid air loss while driving.
The short version
Mack Trucks, Inc. reported a problem with the tires. Here is what owners need to know.
The sidewall steel body cords may be exposed, possibly causing unexpected, rapid air loss while driving. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 119, "New Pneumatic Tires - Other than Passenger Cars."
Rapid tire air loss can increase the risk of a crash.
Mack will notify owners, instructing them to take their vehicles to Bridgestone Tire or Mack truck service centers for inspection and replacement, as necessary, free of charge.
