Peterbilt conspicuity tape may have been installed in the incorrect location, affecting the vehicle's visibility to other drivers on the road.
The short version
PACCAR Incorporated reported a problem with the visibility. Here is what owners need to know.
The conspicuity tape may have been installed in the incorrect location, affecting the vehicle's visibility to other drivers on the road. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Reduced visibility increases the risk of a crash.
PACCAR will notify owners, and dealers will install additional conspicuity tape on back of sleeper in correct location, free of charge.
