Forest River federal Placard may indicate an incorrect amount of water for trailers with the 100-gallon option, allowing the trailer to be overloaded.
The short version
Forest River, Inc. reported a problem with the other labels. Here is what owners need to know.
The Federal Placard may indicate an incorrect amount of water for trailers with the 100-gallon option, allowing the trailer to be overloaded. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 120, "Wheels and Rims-Other than Passenger Cars" and 567, "Certification."
An overloaded trailer has an increased risk of a crash.
Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will install a new placard that reflects the 100-gallon tank, free of charge.
