The short version

Navistar, Inc. reported a problem with the exterior lighting. Here is what owners need to know.

WHAT

The vehicles may not have had sections of reflective tape applied to the right and left upper contours of the cab. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamp, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

WHY IT MATTERS

Without the reflective strips, a truck operating without a trailer at night may be less visible, increasing the risk of a crash.

WHAT TO DO

Navistar will notify owners, and dealers will install reflective tape to the back of the cab, free of charge.
