Navistar weather seal of the illuminated stop sign unit may allow contaminants to enter into the unit, resulting in reduced performance.
The short version
Navistar, Inc. reported a problem with the equipment. Here is what owners need to know.
The weather seal of the illuminated stop sign unit may allow contaminants to enter into the unit, resulting in reduced performance. In certain cases, an electrical short may occur which would render the unit inoperable.
If the sign performance is inhibited, or completely inoperable, it can reduce the visibility for oncoming drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.
Navistar will notify owners, and dealers will replace the LED illuminated school bus signs, free of charge.
