Porsche pre-collision automatic hazard lights may activate in non-emergency situations.
The short version
Porsche Cars North America, Inc. reported a problem with the exterior lighting hazard flashing warning lights. Here is what owners need to know.
The pre-collision automatic hazard lights may activate in non-emergency situations. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
An activation of hazard lights in non-emergency situations could confuse other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.
Take it to a dealer — they will reprogram the hazard lights, free of charge.
