The short version
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. reported a problem with the propulsion system traction motor. Here is what owners need to know.
The electric motor sealing ring was improperly assembled, which may allow coolant to leak into the high-voltage system and interfere with the CAN communication and power supply.
Coolant that leaks into the high-voltage system may impact safety-critical systems and warning lights, causing a loss of vehicle control or unintended air bag deployment, and increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
Take it to a dealer — they will inspect and replace the electric motor, if necessary, free of charge.
