Daimler Trucks North America transmission gear shifter indicator may not display accurately.
The short version
Daimler Trucks North America, LLC reported a problem with the automatic transmission gear position indication (prndl). Here is what owners need to know.
The transmission gear shifter indicator may not display accurately. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 102, "Transmission Shift Lever Sequence/Starter Interlock/Transmission Braking Effect."
Driving a vehicle with an inaccurate transmission gear shifter indicator can result in an unintentional gear shift, which can increase the risk of a crash.
Take it to a dealer — they will inspect and replace the gear shifter, as necessary, free of charge.
