The short version

Porsche Cars North America, Inc. reported a problem with the electrical system instrument cluster/panel. Here is what owners need to know.

WHAT

When there is an unbelted passenger, the seat belt warning light and audible chime will not activate as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

WHY IT MATTERS

A malfunctioning seat belt warning system may not alert the passenger to buckle their seat belt, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

WHAT TO DO

Take it to a dealer — they will update the instrument cluster software, free of charge.
