Tesla weak camera signal strength may prevent the rearview image from displaying.
The short version
Tesla, Inc. reported a problem with the back over prevention. Here is what owners need to know.
Weak camera signal strength may prevent the rearview image from displaying. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
A rearview image that does not display while in reverse decreases the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of injury or crash.
Tesla has released an over-the-air (OTA) software update, free of charge.
