Mitsubishi due to a software error in the in-vehicle infotainment system (A-IVI), the backup camera rearview image may not appear on the display.
The short version
Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. reported a problem with the back over prevention display function. Here is what owners need to know.
Due to a software error in the in-vehicle infotainment system (A-IVI), the backup camera rearview image may not appear on the display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
A rearview camera that does not display an image can reduce the driver's rear view, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
Take it to a dealer — they will update the A-IVI software, free of charge.
