Fontaine Trailer Company trailers may be missing the rear reflex reflectors.
The short version
Fontaine Trailer Company reported a problem with the exterior lighting. Here is what owners need to know.
The trailers may be missing the rear reflex reflectors. As such, these trailers fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Missing rear reflex reflectors reduce the trailer's visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.
Fontaine will provide the reflex reflectors, free of charge.
