The short version

Hyundai Motor America reported a problem with the rear/other retractor. Here is what owners need to know.

WHAT

The seat belt assemblies in the right and left rear seats may not function properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 208, "Occupation Crash Protection" and 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies."

WHY IT MATTERS

A seat belt that does not function properly may not adequately restrain an occupant in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

WHAT TO DO

Take it to a dealer — they will inspect and replace the seat belt retractor as necessary, free of charge.
