The short version

PILOTCAR EV INC. reported a problem with the sensing system camera. Here is what owners need to know.

WHAT

The rearview camera and monitor were not installed. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 111, "Rear Visibility" and 500, "Low Speed Vehicles."

WHY IT MATTERS

The absence of a rearview camera system reduces the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

WHAT TO DO

Take it to a dealer — they will install a rearview camera and monitor, free of charge.
