Infiniti lap belt pretensioner in the left-side front seat belt assembly may be improperly secured, due to a missing rivet.
The short version
Nissan North America, Inc. reported a problem with the seat belts pretensioner. Here is what owners need to know.
The lap belt pretensioner in the left-side front seat belt assembly may be improperly secured, due to a missing rivet. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 208 "Occupant Crash Protection," 209 "Seat Belt Assemblies," and 210 "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."
An unsecured lap belt pretensioner will not properly restrain an occupant during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Take it to a dealer — they will inspect and replace the left-side front lap seat belt pretensioner assemblies as necessary, free of charge.
