The short version

Ford Motor Company reported a problem with the sensing system camera. Here is what owners need to know.

WHAT

Due to a poor electrical connection, the rearview camera may intermittently display a blank or distorted image. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

WHY IT MATTERS

A rearview camera that displays a blank or distorted image can reduce the drivers view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

WHAT TO DO

Take it to a dealer — they will replace the rearview camera, free of charge.
