Freightliner brake lights may not illuminate when the brakes are automatically applied during an active brake assist (ABA) event.
The short version
Daimler Trucks North America, LLC reported a problem with the forward collision avoidance automatic emergency braking. Here is what owners need to know.
The brake lights may not illuminate when the brakes are automatically applied during an active brake assist (ABA) event.
Brake lights that fail to illuminate can fail to indicate to other drivers that the vehicle is slowing down, increasing the risk of a crash.
Take it to a dealer — they will update the ABA software, free of charge.
