Gillig defective welded joint may cause the wiper arm to suddenly fail.
The short version
Gillig, LLC reported a problem with the visibility windshield wiper/washer. Here is what owners need to know.
A defective welded joint may cause the wiper arm to suddenly fail. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 104, "Windshield Wiping and Washing Systems."
Inoperative wipers can reduce the driver's ability to see out of the windshield, increasing the risk of a crash.
Gillig will replace the wiper motor arm, free of charge.
