The short version

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) reported a problem with the back over prevention software. Here is what owners need to know.

WHAT

Incorrect software in the rearview camera module may cause the rearview camera image not to display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."

WHY IT MATTERS

A rearview camera image that does not display decreases the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

WHAT TO DO

Take it to a dealer — they will update the rearview camera module software, free of charge.
