The short version

Porsche Cars North America, Inc. reported a problem with the lighting control module software. Here is what owners need to know.

WHAT

A software error in the front-end electronics control module may result in the low beam headlights creating a glare for oncoming traffic. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

WHY IT MATTERS

Excessive glare can decrease the visibility to oncoming drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

WHAT TO DO

Take it to a dealer — they will update the front-end electronics control module software, free of charge.
