Novabus buses may have been built with an incorrect number of emergency exits.
The short version
Nova Bus (US) Inc. reported a problem with the emergency escape/egress/exit. Here is what owners need to know.
The buses may have been built with an incorrect number of emergency exits. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release."
An insufficient number of emergency exits can prevent or delay passengers from exiting during an emergency, increasing their risk of injury.
Nova Bus will replace some windows with emergency exit windows, free of charge.
