The short version

Porsche Cars North America, Inc. reported a problem with the back over prevention software. Here is what owners need to know.

WHAT

The rearview camera may show a blurry image or fail to display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

WHY IT MATTERS

A rearview camera that does not display an image decreases the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

WHAT TO DO

Take it to a dealer — they will update the control unit software, inspect, and replace the rearview camera as necessary, free of charge.
