Ford air bag indicator light on the dashboard may be loose or dislodged, and not visible to occupants.
The short version
Ford Motor Company reported a problem with the occupant classification status indicator lamp/light. Here is what owners need to know.
The air bag indicator light on the dashboard may be loose or dislodged, and not visible to occupants. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
The air bag indicator light may fail to warn occupants of a deactivated air bag, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.
Take it to a dealer — they will install air bag indicator light retaining clips, free of charge.
