The short version

Volvo Bus Corporation reported a problem with the emergency fire supression. Here is what owners need to know.

WHAT

Metallic debris within the electrical connectors of the Automatic Fire Suppression System (AFSS) may cause a short circuit, resulting in a false warning to the driver, an engine shutdown, and the release of chemical fire extinguishing agent in the engine compartment.

WHY IT MATTERS

An unexpected engine shutdown increases the risk of a crash. Additionally, a disabled coach bus may require an evacuation procedure in an uncontrolled traffic situation, increasing the risk of injury to passengers.

WHAT TO DO

Prevost will inspect and remove any metallic debris from the AFSS connectors, if necessary, free of charge.
