Smeal Holding defective crimp may cause the high-pressure hydraulic hose to separate and leak hydraulic fluid.
The short version
Smeal Holding, LLC reported a problem with the boom/crane/ladder motor/hydraulic pump. Here is what owners need to know.
A defective crimp may cause the high-pressure hydraulic hose to separate and leak hydraulic fluid.
A fluid leak may cause a loss of hydraulic functions, increasing the risk of injury. Additionally, a hydraulic fluid leak in the presence of an ignition source, such as hot engine or exhaust components, increases the risk of a fire.
Take it to a dealer — they will inspect and replace the high-pressure hydraulic hose assembly as necessary, free of charge.
