Foretravel pedestal mounting plate may have been improperly welded, causing the plate to separate and the seat assembly to loosen or detach.
The short version
Foretravel, Inc. reported a problem with the seats. Here is what owners need to know.
The pedestal mounting plate may have been improperly welded, causing the plate to separate and the seat assembly to loosen or detach. As such, these seat assemblies fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 207, "Seating Systems" and 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."
A loose or detached seat assembly may not restrain the occupant as intended, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.
Take it to a dealer — they will inspect for a missing weld and replace the pedestal seat as necessary, free of charge.
