Mitsubishi due to improper software programming, the Alliance In-Vehicle Infotainment (A-IVI) system may fail to display the rearview camera image when the vehicle is placed in reverse.
The short version
Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. reported a problem with the back over prevention software. Here is what owners need to know.
Due to improper software programming, the Alliance In-Vehicle Infotainment (A-IVI) system may fail to display the rearview camera image when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
A rearview image that does not display properly reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Take it to a dealer — they will update the A-IVI software, free of charge.
