Cadillac when closed using the key fob's express-up function, the front windows may fail to detect an obstruction and reverse direction.
The short version
General Motors, LLC reported a problem with the body control module software. Here is what owners need to know.
When closed using the key fob's express-up function, the front windows may fail to detect an obstruction and reverse direction. As such, these vehicles fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 118, "Power-Operated Window Systems."
A closing window that does not reverse direction as expected can pinch a passenger before retracting, increasing the risk of injury.
The body control module (BCM) software will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge.
